Write For Right Brain Rockstar

Do you have a story or piece of advice that you think my readers would find valuable? If so, why not write a guest post for Right Brain Rockstar?

I will currently only publish one or two guest posts a month, but this may increase over time.

You can email me to submit your guest post, but first please read the following guidelines, to make it more likely that your submission will be accepted.

If you have any questions about writing a guest post, please contact me.

What to Write About

You can write about anything that you think Right Brain Rockstar readers would be interested in. So that means anything related to making a living from your creativity.

For example, maybe you are a working artist yourself, and you want to write about how you made the transition from a regular 9 – 5 to becoming a full-time artist.

Or you could suggest alternative ways to make money from art that people may not have thought of before.

Or perhaps just some general inspiration or advice about making a living from doing what you love.

How Much to Write

There is no minimum or maximum word count you need to adhere to, as long as your post provides real value. As a guide, most of my articles are between 500 – 1000 words, but if you can write a knock-out post in 300 words, then go for it.

Images

If you want to include images to illustrate your post, please ensure you own the copyright to the image, or if they are creative commons, please provide a link to the original image source so that I can provide attribution.

When you submit your post, please indicate where the images will go, and if your article is accepted, I will request the images by email.

You can suggest a large (600 x 180) feature image for the top of the article if you wish, otherwise I am very happy to find an appropriate one for you.

Attribution

Successful guest posts will include a short author bio at the top of the post, including a small image and a clickable link back to your website of choice. You can write your own bio, which should be no more than 50 words, and please provide a link to an appropriate image.

External Links

You can include links in your post as long as they are relevant and not excessive. Affiliate links are not permitted and will be removed.

Publication Rights

Any post submitted for publication on Right Brain Rockstar must be original material, not previously published anywhere else online.

By submitting a guest post to Right Brain Rockstar, you agree that if the post is accepted, it is to be used exclusively on Right Brain Rockstar and not published anywhere else (although you are permitted to publish an excerpt of the post elsewhere, with a link to the full post on Right Brain Rockstar.)

The reason for this is that if the same post is published on more than one website, it is classed as duplicate content, and both sites may be penalised by Google, affecting their search engine rankings.

Payment

There is currently no monetary reward given for any guest posts, but you do get a link back to the website of your choice in your author bio.

Acceptance

After submitting your guest post, I will review the content and let you know if I want to use it on Right Brain Rockstar. If I don’t think the content is a good fit for my audience, I will let you know, and you can perhaps repurpose the post for publication elsewhere.

If I feel your article needs work, either in the content, or just with spelling, grammar etc, I will return it to you with some suggested changes, and if you approve the changes then I will accept it for publication.

Once your article is good to go, I will let you know the intended publication date, and I will email you again the day before the article is due to be published.

If there are any changes to be made to your content, I will always ask for your approval before publishing the post.

Submit Your Post

To submit a guest post, you can email it to me at dan@rightbrainrockstar.com, or you can use my contact form. Either way, I’ll get back to you within 24 hours to let you know I’ve received it.

If you use WordPress, you can draft the post in the post editor and then send me the HTML code so that the headings and links will already be correctly formatted. If not, you can just send me the article in plain text and use square brackets to indicate any headings, links, images and any other formatting.

Happy writing!
